Last weekend, my sister and my brother in law invited me over to their house for dinner and a movie.
I love hanging out with them, so I was really excited to spend the evening with them. Since I live an hour away, they invited me to stay the night too. Originally, I didn’t think I would stay the night since I would have rather stayed in my own bed, but I didn’t want to drive home sleepy. While I was at their house, I realized something really funny. My sister and my brother in law were constantly changing the thermostat settings and neither of them knew it! Before dinner, I saw my sister go over to the thermostat and lower the temperature by two degrees. After dinner, I saw my brother in law go over to the thermostat and raise the temperature by two degrees. They did this all throughout the night and neither of them realized that the other one was changing the temperature. At one point, I started laughing because of their oblivion. I wasn’t sure how neither of them realized what was happening. If it were me, I would have been concerned about the changing temperature! Before bed, the two of them did the same thing. My sister lowered the temperature a few degrees and then my brother in law lowered it again right before he went to bed. During the middle of the evening, I got warm, so I changed the thermostat settings myself. I figured that since neither my sister or my brother in law knew what the temperature of their home was at any given point, then they wouldn’t realize that I had changed it.
