My Gas Furnace Worries Me

I didn’t know if the faint smell I was smelling was a placebo effect due to my worry or if there really was something to be concerned about, so I called the HVAC company

Last week, I didn’t think that my furnace was running properly. I noticed some odd noises and a faint smell. If I had an electric furnace, I wouldn’t have been so paranoid, but since I have a gas furnace, I was on high alert. I wasn’t the biggest fan of my gas furnace, but it was already installed when I first moved in and I didn’t have the funds to replace it. The gas furnace kept my home warm during the brutal winter temperatures, which was all I could ask for. Whenever the gas furnace did need to be replaced one day, I was going to install an electric one in its place. One of the biggest things an HVAC professional told me when I first moved in was to always call the HVAC company when I thought there was something wrong. Gas furnaces were not something to play around with because there could be a lot of damage, even death, when something went wrong. It was always better to be safe rather than sorry when dealing with a gas furnace. This is why, when I noticed something “off” about my furnace last week, I began to panic. I didn’t know if the faint smell I was smelling was a placebo effect due to my worry or if there really was something to be concerned about, so I called the HVAC company. They sent an HVAC professional to my house right away to examine my gas furnace. Thankfully, there were no issues that they could find and they said that I was most likely hearing and smelling things out of fear.
