In the break room it’s too cold
I had the longest business meeting recently. It was grueling. So many people were asking so many questions and talking in circles and not understanding each other. Meanwhile, I had so much work to catch up on. My only saving grace and respite from frustration and annoyance was the comforting air conditioning. It felt so good! The conference room definitely has the best air conditioning in the whole building. I wish I could get actual work done there instead of listening to people squawking about information that is largely irrelevant to me. The air conditioning in the work space is insufficient, to say the least. In particular, my cubicle is too far away from an air vent. It feels a touch too warm and a little stifling. The break room is marginally better. I say marginally, because for whatever reason the air conditioning in there is blasting constantly. I don’t understand why they think that’s a good idea. Perhaps they think that employees need to be the most comfortable on their brakes, and the more powerful the air conditioning is the more comfortable they will be. Maybe I’m overthinking, but I feel like Goldilocks, except instead of porridge being the issue it’s air conditioning. In my workspace, it’s too warm. In the break room it’s too cold. In the conference room, it’s just right. At least, I know that when I come home I get to set the thermostat to whatever I want. Any given room in my home is nice and comfortable, because I’m in charge!
