I know about the history of HVAC and it helped me win trivia night last week. I am always a sucker for trivia games for some reason. I love knowing lots of obscure trivia that other people have no idea about. I guess it makes me feel smarter than everyone else for some reason. I have always been someone who reads up on random things. Even back when I was a kid, I always liked to read random things that no one else knew anything about. I have always been known as a wealth of useless knowledge among all of my friends. I have never even been offended by that title because I think that it’s funny. I love knowing weird stuff. It always helps me get into interesting conversations and it usually helps me at parties, too! Well, the other night I played trivia with some friends at a big trivia tournament. I never thought that we would have any chance of winning because we were going up against some great teams. Well, it just happened to turn out that one of the categories was about the history of heating and cooling. I am such a nerd that I know absolutely everything that there is to know about the history of heating and cooling! In 1902, an engineer in New York invented modern air conditioning. Also, the first room air conditioner was invented in 1931 by two guys named Schultz and Sherman. I knew the right answer to that question and I won the whole tournament for our team!
