When I go out to buy a completely brand new central HVAC system unit, one of the first things I look at before buying it is what the exact SEER rating is of the heating and cooling unit. Because when you have a high SEER rating on a central HVAC system it means that you will have a heat and A/C component that is legitimately energy efficient and will save you a lot of money on electric bills. It may entirely provide you so much savings you will think that you are running a portable HVAC component in your home instead. That is how much a SEER rating being high can save you on energy use when you run your central HVAC system unit. I was so gleeful when I first discovered this fact about SEER ratings over a decade ago. There are not a lot of people out there who know what a SEER rating is or how it can actually benefit you in the long term when you buy any brand new central HVAC system component for your home. This is something that I feel pretty much everyone should learn about and act on, then yes a good SEER rating central HVAC system could cost you more than a familiar SEER rating central HVAC system unit. However, it is well worth the extra money investment because you will end up making that back in energy savings!
